The final day of Bucharest Fashion Week was for me one of the finest fashion show I’ve seen. Not that I’ve seen so many, don’t get me wrong. I was impressed by the details, subtleness and choreography of the whole show in fact. Also on the final day was held the contest Fashion TV Model Awards, and with so many pretty faces I was curious indeed, who shall win… Thanks for watching!

Bucharest Fashion Week 2011 – DAY 2
Day two was a bit different from my point of view. I mean the stage was redecorated, the FTV logo was lowered, the lights was rechecked and now it was almost even on the whole catwalk. I met new people, I found out that one of the luggage with dresses of the Italian designer who would end the show, on day two, didn’t make it to Bucharest airport and was sent elsewhere… Though luck, indeed. This time I will post more photos of the presented collections and hopefully you will find them as visually pleasing as I did. Day 3 to come… soon!

Bucharest Fashion Week 2011 – DAY 1
This fashion event was held during 5-7 may at Bucharest, where I had the opportunity to participate as photographer together with two models from Crystal Models Agency. This was my first event of this kind, I had a lot of time to observe and prepare for the opening evening, even got the opportunity to have some small talks with one of the designers. In the following I offer you a slide-show about the preparation for the opening of this event and some shots from the catwalk with the clothes of the featured designers from day one.

Shooting Judith
Back in business! At least it seems so! I had the opportunity to photograph a model in order to create a casting poster for Crystal Models Agency. The best part was that I had free hand on the location, the lighting and the concept of the shooting. I knew the dress what the model would wear on that day and partially I was told about the make-up. As a starting place I picked Incanto Cafe from downtown and later on I moved the photo shoot near the National Theater. My lighting assistant was Claudiu and the make-up artist was Gyopi. I wanted to push this shooting a bit towards fashion rather than glamour this time. I am still waiting to obtain the final form of the casting poster and as soon as I receive it I shall post it. Altogether it was a great teamwork and I have to thank you all for your support!

Larisa – Shooting
Finally! She could very well say it, after postponing her shooting, until turned 18 years… Actually she’s 19 now and after a careful planing we made this shooting real. I found the location at a photo-walk with some other photographers in my town, because I am always in search of new photo shooting location. February 5th was a minus 12 C winter day… but that didn’t stopped my model to get into her role and being assisted by my friend, the light-master Claudiu, we went to get some photos… Usually I used strobe flash with umbrella, this time not shoot-through, but the reflective umbrella and the second strobe flash was naked, to illuminate the background occasionally. At some point on the set came Larisa’s cousin and I included her also in a few shots. About he post process I can only say I had some ideas and let my imagination loose a bit… OK, I admit, maybe a bit more! Here are some shots. Enjoy and feel free to leave some feedback!

Ildikó – Shooting
I fancied to shoot this model quite for a while, but never had the opportunity until recently. Her look is quite a brand, red curly hair, lots of freckles all over the face and body as well. I wanted to shoot a bit different so I asked her to change the hair for this shooting. Lucky me, she agreed! I used ambient light combined with one or two strobe w/o reflecting umbrella. I post some photos with my light-stand in the picture because lately I got questions from fellow guys if I use any strobe light at all, or I just fix my shots in PS. As a matter of fact, I do both! Enough talking, here are the photos…

Zsuzsi is back!
Our last shooting was in February, as I recall. But after we examined that shooting’s result we both concluded that a new photo session is due. I got the time, the temperature was tolerable and we proceeded with a new shooting, as planned, finally. I got my photo bag and my strobist kit, Zsuzsi got her girlfriend as assistant to her and me and had a great time. I tried to shoot one model with many faces, not emphasizing beauty and glamour but mood and feelings in my shots… here are the results:

Kata – Shooting
Sunday. Too hot outside, even in the morning hour… I planned this shooting with Kata, a 19 years old girl from a nearby town, in order to get her comfortable in front of the camera and to get her used to posing. I started out with natural light, than later I used a flash on light-stand with a shoot-through umbrella. I managed to obtain some interesting shots, but what am I posting here are only those photos that she agreed to become public.

Gy. Csilla – Shooting
Well, I was longing to get my camera out of my bag and have a good time shooting a girl. Luckily my model was glad for the opportunity and embraced some of my ideas as I enjoyed some of her ideas. I tried to keep this session as simple as possible using either one flash with shoot-through umbrella or only natural light available. Some photos are edited in order to simulate certain film-types, but some are colorized just to match my mood… that’s why the colors are a bit.. weird. To summarize the shooting I could only use one word: FUN!
